OVERVIEW
Gutters That Protect Your Whole Home
Water is one of the most destructive forces a home faces — and gutters are your first defense against it. Properly installed gutters keep water off your siding, away from your foundation, and out of your basement. In our climate, they also handle heavy spring rain and the constant freeze-thaw runoff that comes with Midwest winters.
A-Team Exteriors is a local, family-run company based in Breckenridge, MN, serving Wahpeton, ND and nearby communities. We bring over 35 years of combined experience to every gutter project — whether you’re replacing worn-out sectional gutters, adding gutters to a new build, or repairing a section that’s pulling away.

Are Gutters Really Necessary?
It’s a fair question — plenty of homes go without them. But in a climate like ours, gutters do real work that’s hard to replace.
Without gutters, rain and snowmelt pour straight off your roofline and land right against your house. Over time that causes:
Foundation problems
water pooling at the base of your home, seeping into the basement
Siding damage
constant splashback soaking your siding and trim
Eroded landscaping
soil washing away from around the house
Rotting fascia and soffit
water running back against the roofline
Ice buildup
meltwater refreezing where it lands, right at your doorstep
WHY SEAMLESS Gutters
Seamless Gutters vs. Sectional Gutters
Most older homes have sectional gutters — pre-cut pieces joined together every few feet. Every one of those joints is a potential leak point, and over time they separate, sag, and clog with debris.
Seamless gutters are different. Each run is formed as one continuous piece, custom-cut on site to the exact length of your roofline. That means:
Far fewer leaks
no seams along the run means no joints to fail
A cleaner look
one smooth line instead of visible seams every few feet
Less maintenance
fewer joints to catch leaves and debris
Better durability
no weak points to pull apart in freeze-thaw cycles
A custom fit
Formed to your home's exact measurements, not cut to standard lengths

Gutters, Fascia & Drip Edge
Gutters don’t hang in mid-air — they mount to your fascia, the board that runs along the edge of your roof. If that fascia is soft, rotted, or water-damaged, new gutters won’t stay put for long.
That’s why we check the fascia and soffit before we install. If repairs are needed, we handle them — and because we also do siding, trim, soffit, and fascia work, it’s all one job with one crew. Proper drip edge at the roofline is part of the picture too: it directs water off the roof and into the gutter instead of behind it, where it can rot the fascia from the inside out.
See our Residential Siding page for more on soffit, fascia, and trim work.

Leaf Guards & Gutter Protection
If you’ve got trees near the house, clogged gutters are a recurring headache — and clogged gutters overflow, which defeats the whole purpose. Worse, water backing up out of a blocked gutter can work its way under your shingles and cause roof or ceiling leaks.
We offer optional leaf guards that keep leaves, needles, and debris out while letting water through, so your gutters keep doing their job with far less upkeep.
Leaf guards are an add-on, not a requirement. During your free estimate we’ll give you an honest opinion on whether they make sense for your home — some properties genuinely benefit, and some don’t need them at all.

Gutters for Metal Roofs
Metal roofs shed water and snow fast — much faster than shingles — which means the gutter system underneath has to be sized and mounted to handle it. Undersized gutters on a metal roof simply overflow, and snow sliding off a metal panel can tear a poorly-mounted gutter right off.
We install seamless gutters on metal roofs with the right sizing, bracket spacing, and mounting for the job. If you’re considering a metal roof or already have one, we’ll make sure your gutters are up to it. See our Metal Roofing page for more on our metal roof systems.

Heated Gutters & Ice Dam Prevention
Winters in the Red River Valley are hard on gutters. Snow melts off the roof during the day, runs into the gutter, and refreezes overnight. That’s how ice dams form — and how you end up with frozen gutters, heavy icicles hanging off the eaves, and water backing up under your shingles.
Those icicles are more than a nuisance. They’re a sign that meltwater has nowhere to go, and the weight of built-up ice can pull gutters loose from the fascia entirely.
Heated gutter systems help solve this. A self-regulating heat cable runs through the gutter and down the downspout, creating a clear channel so melting snow can drain instead of freezing solid. That keeps water moving off your roof through the coldest months and helps prevent the ice buildup that leads to leaks, damaged fascia, and sagging gutters.
If frozen gutters, icicles, or ice dams are a recurring problem at your home, ask us about adding a heated gutter system to your project.
